How we track startup funding

signal/raise publishes one sourced story per startup funding round. We currently track 448 rounds.

What counts as a round

A round is new money raised by a startup: a venture-backed or founder-led technology company founded in 2005 or later that is not publicly listed. We include equity rounds from pre-seed to growth, and venture-debt facilities announced as a round. We leave out rumours, secondary sales and tender offers, grants, IPOs, acquisitions and funds raised by investment firms.

How each round is verified

Every round is checked against a primary source (the company's or lead investor's announcement) and at least one independent news report. Each story lists all of its sources. Quotes are copied word for word from those sources.

Amounts, stages and dates

Amounts are shown in US dollars, converted at the exchange rate on the announcement date, with the amount as announced alongside. Valuations appear only when the company or a named source reported them. The date is the announcement date. Stages follow the company's own label: Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B, Series C, Series D+, Growth, Debt.

Coverage

We cover 10 regions (North America, Europe, Israel, India, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Oceania) and 17 sectors. The most recent month is covered in depth; for earlier months of 2026 we list the most notable rounds. Coverage of smaller pre-seed and seed rounds is necessarily incomplete.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong, tell us and we will correct the story and note the change. Nothing on this site is investment advice.
