Aumet, a healthtech company that runs an AI-first procurement system for pharmacies and hospitals, raised a $12m Series A announced on 13 May 2026. Emkan Capital led the round.
New investors are Qatar Development Bank, SABAH and AAIC, according to Wamda. Existing backers Shorooq Partners and Right Side Capital Management took part, as did the strategic healthcare investors Cigalah Group and Salehiya Trading Company. The company did not disclose a valuation.
Wamda and Entrepreneur Middle East described Aumet as Saudi Arabia-based. The press release published by Entarabi was datelined Riyadh, but none of the sources stated the city where the company is headquartered.

What Aumet does
Aumet describes its product as an AI-first procurement operating system for healthcare, connecting pharmacies, hospitals, suppliers and healthcare systems in one network with real-time visibility and AI-driven decisions. Wamda said it is sold in three tiers: Pulse for individual pharmacies, Chain for pharmacy chains and Enterprise for hospitals, health ministries and national healthcare systems.
The company was founded in 2016. Yahya Aqel is co-founder and chief executive, and Adel Haddad is a co-founder. Wamda's article also named Shahed Jaber as a founder, although the press release listed only Aqel and Haddad.
Scale and customers
The company says it has processed more than $1bn in gross merchandise value and handles more than 5 million transactions a year. Its network includes more than 12,000 pharmacies in Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia and more than 1,000 connected pharmaceutical suppliers.
On the enterprise side, it reports deployments at 32 hospitals, more than 500 medical centres and more than 18 medical warehouses. The enterprise platform was first deployed at Al-Basheer Hospital, Jordan's largest hospital, together with Jordan's Ministry of Health and its Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. Presight, a G42 company based in Abu Dhabi, has signed an agreement to scale the system across public healthcare in the United Arab Emirates.
Wamda reported that Aumet raised a $7m pre-Series A round in March 2023 from AAIC, Shorooq Partners and other investors.
What the money is for
The funds will go to expanding AI capabilities, scaling Pulse globally, growing enterprise deployments and entering new GCC and international markets, with a focus on Saudi Arabia, according to the two reports.
Entrepreneur Middle East reported that Aqel said a significant part of the funding will go into AI engineering and enterprise healthcare solutions, plus hiring across technology, enterprise sales and customer success. Planned AI tools include demand forecasting for hospitals and pharmacies, procurement recommendations, inventory optimisation, anomaly detection, supplier matching and automated purchasing workflows.
Adel Haddad, listed there as chief strategy officer, said Saudi Arabia is one of the company's top strategic priorities, and that products are being localised for Saudi regulatory and operational needs. The report said entry into Europe and other markets is under consideration.
Aqel said: "Healthcare supply chains don't suffer from lack of supply — they suffer from lack of intelligence." He added that the ambition is to take what the company has built in the Middle East and scale it globally.
Mahmoud Adi, founding partner at Shorooq, said what stands out is the depth of integration across the healthcare value chain. Neither source stated a headcount.
