Concentrate AI launches a free LLM gateway with $5.1m pre-seed from True and RRE

The New York startup, founded in 2025, bills model tokens at cost and charges nothing for security and governance controls that rivals sell as extras.

Concentrate AI, a New York startup that sells a managed gateway for large language models, came out of stealth on 10 June 2026 with pre-seed funding co-led by True Ventures and RRE Ventures. The company's launch release said it raised more than $5m, and AlleyWatch reported the amount as $5.1m. The AI Insider also reported a $5m pre-seed.

No valuation was disclosed, and the sources did not name any other investors.

What Concentrate does

The product is an LLM gateway: a single API through which a company can reach models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Kimi and others. According to the release, switching models takes a change to one line of code.

The gateway also handles the operational work around model use. Traffic is routed across multiple providers and clouds and falls back automatically when an endpoint fails. A real-time view shows AI usage by team, user, model, provider and application, with SMS and email alerts when spending looks anomalous.

The release lists the supported providers, but the sources did not say how many models are available through the gateway or which enterprise customers are already using it.

Free by default

The company says the platform is free. Tokens are billed at cost with no platform markup, and premium enterprise tiers add extended logging, service-level agreements and dedicated support. Single sign-on, role-based access controls, audit logging, sensitive-data guardrails and zero data retention are on by default for all customers at no charge.

The release framed the launch against a wave of AI regulation, noting that all 50 US states introduced AI legislation in 2025, with 1,208 bills introduced and 145 enacted, and that trackers count more than 2,000 AI bills in 2026. Those figures are the company's.

The company said it will keep the governance and security stack free for all customers and charge only for premium enterprise tiers, so its revenue plan rests on larger customers needing extended logging, service-level agreements and dedicated support.

The founders

Concentrate was founded in 2025 by Ari Jacoby, co-founder and chief executive, and Todd Lieberman, co-founder and chief technology officer, according to the release and AlleyWatch. The company's headcount was not stated.

Jacoby said, "Every dollar spent on AI should have a purpose." Lieberman said Concentrate is for the in-production systems businesses depend on, not just experiments. The AI Insider reported that Jacoby described the platform as built to return time and cost efficiency to developers working in a fragmented model landscape.

What the money is for

The company said the funding will go to expanding the core platform, improving the developer experience and supporting companies that deploy AI at scale.

The sources did not report any earlier funding, so none is listed. The release is the company's own launch announcement, and its claims about price, reliability and compliance features were not independently tested by the outlets that covered it.

The AI Insider's article was written by James Dargan and published on 11 June. It did not state the company's headcount, use of funds beyond the launch, or individual investor amounts, and AlleyWatch did not give total funding.
