Fal, a San Francisco company that runs generative image, video and audio models for developers, announced on 3 November 2026 that it had raised a Series F round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Nvidia investing again. In the same post it disclosed a Series E led by Sequoia Capital that closed earlier in the year.
Fal's own announcement did not give figures. TechCrunch and SiliconANGLE reported that the Series F raised $1.3bn at a $16bn valuation, and that the Series E and Series F together brought in $1.65bn. Sound Ventures and T. Rowe Price also took part, according to TechCrunch, and SiliconANGLE named HOF Capital as another investor.
SiliconANGLE reported that Talia Goldberg of Bessemer will join the board of Features & Labels, the legal name of the company behind fal.
“We hit a point in summer where we were not able to serve our customers and had to rate-limit them,”Burkay Gur, co-founder and CEO, fal (to Bloomberg, via SiliconANGLE)
What fal does
Fal gives developers a single API for running generative media models, from image and video generators to audio models. Its customers include entertainment studios, advertising agencies, e-commerce brands, game developers and marketing teams, according to the company's post.
The company also post-trains some models with its own researchers, and some of its partnerships with model makers involve licensing fees or revenue sharing, SiliconANGLE reported. TechCrunch named Baseten, Fireworks AI and Modal among its competitors in the inference market.
Fal was founded in 2021 by chief executive Burkay Gur, who previously led machine learning at Coinbase, and chief technology officer Gorkem Yurtseven, a former Amazon developer. SiliconANGLE put its headcount at 185.
Fal also publishes models of its own. In October 2026 it released FLUX 3 Max by fal, according to the company's announcement, as part of a push to offer both third-party and in-house models through the same platform.
Demand and revenue
Both TechCrunch and SiliconANGLE, citing Bloomberg, reported that fal's annualised revenue passed $800m earlier in 2026. The company has not published revenue figures itself.
Gur told Bloomberg, as quoted by SiliconANGLE, that the company had run short of capacity during the summer and had to limit how much some customers could use the service. Fal said in its post that the new money would pay for inference capacity and work across its ecosystem in 2027, and SiliconANGLE reported that compute and hiring were the main uses.
The funding so far
According to SiliconANGLE, which cited Bloomberg, the Sequoia-led Series E was a $350m round in April at an $8bn valuation, so the new round roughly doubled fal's valuation in about seven months. The company raised $140m at a $4.5bn valuation the previous December, SiliconANGLE reported, and has raised more than $1.9bn in total.
The round comes as investors put large sums into companies that sell AI inference. SiliconANGLE noted that rival Fireworks AI raised $1.5bn at a $17.5bn valuation in July.
Bessemer's lead and Nvidia's return as an investor were the only investor details that fal itself confirmed. The company did not say how much it raised, at what valuation, or how the money was split between the two rounds.
