Kapital, a Mexico City financial group that offers banking and credit services to businesses, raised $125m in new financing announced on 10 September 2026. Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital provided the money, with Cervin Ventures, Niya Partners and Overlook Capital also taking part.

The company did not say how much of the $125m was equity and how much was debt. TheSaaSNews, citing Bloomberg, described the deal as an extension of Kapital's Series C, with Tru Arrow Partners leading the equity and Fasanara Capital providing debt to fund the company's lending.

No new valuation was disclosed. Kapital said it reached a valuation of more than $1.3bn after a $110m Series C in September 2025.

“As Kapital continues to grow profitably and increase the operating leverage of our business, this new capital will allow us to accelerate our next phase of growth and expand our impact in priority markets such as Mexico and the United States.”René Saúl, CEO and co-founder, Kapital

What Kapital does

Kapital describes itself as an AI-powered financial institution for businesses. Alongside business banking, it offers credit, cash-flow management tools, brokerage and fund management, built around its own AI platform and data analytics tools. It says it has more than 350,000 customers and operates in Mexico, Colombia, Spain and the United States.

René Saúl is chief executive and co-founder. The company describes itself as Mexico's first AI unicorn and as one of the ten unicorns based in the country. It is a regulated financial entity and has twice been named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

The numbers behind the round

According to Dealroom, Kapital recently reported net income of about $50m for the first half of 2026. Dealroom said the company's loan portfolio had grown to more than $1.7bn, up 220% on a year earlier, and deposits to more than $3.5bn, up 234%, with a non-performing loan ratio of 2.86%. These are the company's own figures.

The new financing follows the Series C that Kapital closed in September 2025, which FF News put at $110m and Dealroom described as a round of up to $110m that doubled the company's valuation to more than $1.3bn. Kapital has not disclosed its total funding to date, and neither source named the lead investor of the 2025 round.

Dealroom placed the deal at around the 91st percentile of late-stage Mexican fintech rounds over the previous four years. Saúl said the company was growing profitably and increasing the operating leverage of its business.

What the money is for

Kapital said it would use the capital for product development and to invest further in its AI platform and data analytics tools. It plans to focus expansion on Mexico and the United States, which Saúl called priority markets, while also extending its reach in Latin America and Europe.

Saúl said Kapital aimed to tackle the financial problems that hold businesses back at each stage of their growth and to use AI to give smaller companies access to financial tools that were once available mainly to large corporations. Adam Silverschotz is co-founder and managing partner of Tru Arrow Partners. Francesco Filia, founder and chief executive of Fasanara Capital, said Kapital's growth showed the strength of its business model, according to Dealroom.
