LeapXpert, a company that provides governed communication on consumer messaging channels, announced a $180m growth investment on 30 June 2026. Riverwood Capital led the round. Existing investor Portage Ventures continued to invest. No other investors and no valuation were disclosed.

The company said the money will deepen its platform's ability to understand and act on governed conversations, accelerate growth in financial services, the public sector and the broader enterprise market, and expand its senior leadership team.

What LeapXpert does

LeapXpert describes itself as the leader in governed communication intelligence. Its software lets businesses and public bodies use consumer messaging channels while keeping the records and controls that regulated organisations need. CMSWire reports that its customers include financial institutions and government agencies, and that it works with hundreds of organisations in more than 45 countries.

The company is based in New York and was founded in 2017, according to CMSWire. Founder and chief executive Dima Gutzeit said: "Messaging is where business happens now." He added that the next wave of enterprise value "will come from making those conversations trusted, connected, and actionable".

LeapXpert did not state a headcount, revenue or earlier funding.

What the money is for

CMSWire lists five uses for the funds: developing the AI platform so that it can act on governed conversations; speeding adoption among banks and other financial institutions; expanding in the public sector, which it calls the company's fastest-growing vertical; pushing into the wider enterprise market, up to the Forbes Global 2000; and building out its leadership team.

The Cooley notice of the deal gave the same three priorities of platform depth, growth in financial services, the public sector and enterprise, and a larger senior team.

The company describes the public sector as its fastest-growing vertical and the wider enterprise market, up to the Forbes Global 2000, as the next target. The senior leadership expansion is the only item on the list that is about people rather than product or markets, and no names or roles were announced.

Who invested

Riverwood Capital is the lead investor. Portage Ventures is an existing backer that took part again. Neither source names any other participants.

The law firm Cooley advised LeapXpert on the transaction, and its published notice describes the deal as a $180m growth investment led by Riverwood.

Cooley's team on the deal was led by Laura Medina, Kester Spindler, Jeffrey Tolin, Ryan Montgomery, Joanna Leung and Hannah Barcus. The Cooley notice carries no quotes from the company or its investors, and CMSWire, which reported the round on 1 July 2026, quotes only Gutzeit. Riverwood Capital's reasons for the investment are therefore not set out in the sources used for this article.

The market it sells into

LeapXpert's stated aim is to make governed conversations on consumer messaging channels understandable and actionable, as well as compliant.

The company did not say how its growth round will be split among these goals. The company has not published revenue figures or a valuation that would show how fast it is growing.
