Lupin Dental, a Montpellier company that makes a supervised robotic system for preparing teeth for cosmetic veneers, raised a €15m (about $17m) Series A, announced in late August 2026. Fynveur, a long-term investment company advised by Invus, contributed €10m.

The rest came from existing shareholders, new private investors and a loan from Bpifrance, the French public investment bank. Invus will take a board seat, according to Tech Funding News. No valuation was disclosed.

Tech Funding News reported that the money is meant to widen the company's partnerships so that more practitioners can use the system, while the robot remains under dentist supervision.

What Lupin does

The Lupin Robotic System is a supervised robotic platform for minimally invasive tooth preparation for veneers. The dentist sets the plan in software and remains responsible for diagnosis, treatment planning and supervising the procedure, FrenchWeb reported.

Lupin Dental was founded in 2019 in Montpellier by the dentists Stefen Koubi and Galip Gürel, both cosmetic dentists with about three decades in the field, Tech Funding News reported. It also has an office in Marseille and about 50 employees.

Tech Funding News said the company is operated by the French company Digicuto SAS and that Koubi and Gürel are award-winning cosmetic dentists. FrenchWeb said the technology is licensed to Dolphin Lifesciences in India, which makes and distributes it there.

Regulatory status

The system is approved for clinical use in the UK and India, where Dolphin Lifesciences licenses and sells it as the Dolphin Robotic Dental System. It is not yet approved in the EU or the US, where CE marking is required.

FrenchWeb said the new money will finance clinical demonstration, regulatory preparation and industrialisation.

Vestbee dated its report 28 August 2026, and said the company will use the money for the next phase of growth and to expand partnerships with academic and medical institutions.

What the money is for

Tech Funding News reported that Lupin plans to expand through partnerships with universities, medical centres, dental professionals and dental service organisations, so that more practitioners can use the system.

FrenchWeb listed possible business models that have not been finalised: equipment sale, leasing with maintenance, per-procedure billing, software subscription, training and planning services. It named PERCEPTIVE, a US company with a semi-automated platform for tooth preparation and crown placement, as a competitor.

Vestbee reported that the company describes its technology as bringing supervised automation to veneers and other complex dental treatments, and that Invus will provide strategic and operational support in addition to its board seat.

What the founders said

Koubi and Gürel said in the announcement that Lupin Dental opens a new chapter with this important milestone.

Neither source gave the amounts of earlier funding. FrenchWeb referred only to historical shareholders. Lupin Dental is operated by the French company Digicuto SAS, according to Tech Funding News.

The founders added that the round reflects investors' confidence in their vision and supports their mission to transform dental care through innovation, Vestbee reported.
