Nous, a UK company whose AI agent takes over household bills and admin, has raised $17m in new funding. The company announced the round on 26 October 2026.

The money comes from Heartcore Capital and Mosaic Ventures, which backed Nous at seed, with participation from Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures. Founders and entrepreneurs linked to Monzo, GoCardless, Founders Factory, Faculty.ai and Onfido also invested.

Nous did not name the stage of the round or disclose a valuation. signal/raise lists it as a Series A because it follows the company's seed round.

“We backed Nous at seed, and in eighteen months Greg and the team have gone from beta to a quarter of a million households handing over real spending decisions, with a new home joining every minute.”Toby Coppel, General Partner, Mosaic Ventures

What Nous does

Nous's agent acts on a household's behalf rather than just giving advice. It finds cheaper deals for energy, broadband, mobile and car insurance and carries out the switch, cancels subscriptions, fills in forms and flags expensive renewal terms. It also manages family calendars, sends reminders about deadlines, finds local tradespeople and books appointments.

The company says nearly 250,000 UK households now use it, with another joining every minute, and that it manages more than $900m of household spending. It says it saves a typical household £734 (about $980) across its bills. These figures come from the company.

Tech.eu reported that the agent combines large language models with rules-based logic for sensitive actions, and that Nous is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, which lets it carry out regulated activities such as buying insurance. The company says it does not make money from advertising or from selling customer data.

Who is behind it

Nous was founded by Greg Marsh, the entrepreneur behind the luxury home rental marketplace onefinestay, Tech.eu reported. Marsh told Tech.eu the team had spent 18 months building an agent people could trust to make financial and purchasing decisions for them.

Max Niederhofer, a general partner at Heartcore Capital, said personal agents will change how households make purchasing decisions. Toby Coppel, a general partner at Mosaic Ventures, said Nous had gone from beta to a quarter of a million households in 18 months.

The angel investors in the company include Tom Blomfield, co-founder of GoCardless and Monzo; Brent Hoberman of Founders Factory and lastminute.com; Doug Monro of Adzuna; Richard Moross of MOO; James Meekings of Funding Circle; Eamon Jubbawy and Husayn Kassai of Onfido; Will Dean of Tough Mudder; and Daniel Hegarty of Habito.

Coppel said households were trusting the agent to act for them, not just to advise them, because it is built to be safe and does not rely on advertising. He said Mosaic expects consumer AI to take that shape.

What the money is for

Nous plans to use the funding to reach more households, launch outside the UK and broaden the range of services its agent can handle.

Over the coming year it intends to move into more regulated activities, including a wider insurance offering and other financial services, and to add new tools for everyday chores.

The company describes its mission as making life simpler, fairer and cheaper for households that have had enough of admin.
