Patlytics, a New York company that sells an AI platform for patent and intellectual-property work, raised a $40m Series B on 8 April 2026. SignalFire led the round, with N47, Myriad Venture Partners, Relativity, Alumni Ventures, Antiportfolio Ventures and BAM Corner Point also taking part. No valuation was disclosed.
Patlytics said total funding is now about $65m, raised in under two and a half years. Earlier backers named in the company's release include Liquid 2 Ventures, 8VC and Google's Gradient Ventures.
Patlytics said the money will pay for an AI-native collaboration suite, domain-specific AI agents and expanded chemistry and biology capabilities.
“Patent work demands judgment no AI will ever replace.”Paul Lee, Co-Founder and CEO, Patlytics
What Patlytics does
The company describes its product as an end-to-end platform for the patent lifecycle. It covers invention harvesting, application drafting, infringement analysis, invalidity contentions, due diligence for transactions and portfolio management. Users are law firms and corporate IP teams.
The founders are Paul Lee, chief executive, and Arthur Jen, chief technology officer. The company has offices in New York, Silicon Valley, Canada and Asia-Pacific, and has just added one in London. It did not disclose its headcount or founding year.
Customers and claimed results
Patlytics said more than 40% of Am Law 100 firms use the platform, along with several IP practices ranked by Legal 500 and Chambers. Named law firms are Quinn Emanuel, Foley & Lardner and Susman Godfrey. Corporate users include Canon, Rivian, Xerox, Asahi Kasei and TaylorMade.
Customers cited in the release reported an 80% reduction in project time, savings of more than $30,000 per claim chart and up to 15 hours recovered per patent application. These figures come from the company's announcement rather than an independent audit.
What the money is for
The planned collaboration suite would give teams a shared workspace and central file management. The domain-specific agents are meant for tasks such as drafting, research and portfolio triage. The chemistry and biology work would handle sequences and chemical structures for prosecution, search and analysis.
The company also hired Vasheharan Kanesarajah as head of EMEA, based in London. He joins from Clarivate, where he was head of strategy and business development and a member of the senior leadership team of its IP division, and has more than two decades of experience in the IP industry.
Lee said patent work demands judgment no AI will ever replace. Jen said the company is proud of the milestone but that its mission is to serve its customers.
Who led the round
SignalFire describes itself as investing in applied AI companies from pre-seed to Series B across healthcare, cybersecurity, infrastructure, consumer and enterprise, and says it has about $3bn in assets under management. Wayne Hu, a general partner at the firm, called the result a unified platform for IP rather than an AI tool with an IP module.
Neither the company release nor Pulse 2.0 broke out the earlier rounds that make up the $65m total, so none are listed here.
