SageOx, a startup building what it calls shared context infrastructure for AI-native teams, announced a $15m seed round on 6 May 2026. Canaan Partners led the round, with A.Capital, Pioneer Square Labs and Founders' Co-op taking part. Law firm Fenwick said it represented the company. No valuation was disclosed.
Plushcap, summarising a post by the company, placed the company in Seattle. The company said it will use the money to keep developing its product and make a small number of key hires while staying lean and relying heavily on AI agents as teammates.
Fenwick's corporate team, led by partner Katherine Duncan, advised SageOx on the financing. The law firm's announcement is dated 6 May 2026 and gives no closing date.
“the ability to share decisions, intent, and history across humans and agents becomes critical infrastructure.”Ajit Banerjee, Founder and CEO, SageOx
The problem and the product
SageOx says AI agents typically work in isolated sessions without persistent memory or a shared understanding of earlier decisions, team discussions or architectural intent. Its software captures decisions, intent and history from conversations, chat tools, coding sessions and existing software systems, and turns them into structured knowledge that both people and agents can use.
The company says this lets agents pick up work knowing past decisions, project requirements and team conventions. TechIntelPro reported that the company claims teams using it see speed gains of 20x to 40x, a figure that comes from the company and was not independently checked.
Plushcap's summary of the company's own post describes the same goal: structuring context from conversations and coding sessions into knowledge that feeds AI agent workflows, so agents follow team conventions and architectural intent rather than starting each session from scratch.
Ajit Banerjee, founder and chief executive, said that as humans and agents work together, the ability to share decisions, intent and history across them "becomes critical infrastructure."
The founders
Three people founded the company: Banerjee, Ryan Snodgrass and Milkana Brace. Pulse 2 said the founding team includes former engineering leaders from AWS, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Kindle, Remitly and XetHub.
TechIntelPro gave individual backgrounds. Banerjee, the chief executive, was an early member of the AWS EC2 and EBS team, helped build core infrastructure at Apple and Facebook, and founded XetHub, which Hugging Face acquired. Snodgrass, the chief technology officer, was one of Amazon's first engineers and holds more than 35 patents. Brace, the chief product officer, is a repeat founder and a former executive vice president of product at Remitly, where her startup Jargon was acquired.
TechIntelPro listed author Steve Yegge and researcher Rupak Majumdar as advisers.
Customers and investors
SageOx works with early design partners and runs what it calls an open work model, which shows how its own teams work with AI agents, according to Pulse 2. The partners were not named, apart from Marius Ciocirlan, chief executive of Mark OS, who said SageOx keeps people in the loop automatically.
The company's three named founders each come from infrastructure or product leadership roles at large technology firms, and the round brings in a lead investor, Canaan, whose venture partner Sreekanti is the only investor quoted in the sources reviewed. A.Capital, Pioneer Square Labs and Founders' Co-op are the other participants named by all of the sources.
Kumar Sreekanti, a venture partner at Canaan, said every major shift creates a new systems layer, and that here the layer is context.
The company did not disclose its headcount, revenue or previous funding.
