Supabase, the open source Postgres development platform, raised a $500m Series F, announced on 4 June 2026. GIC led the round. In its own post the company put the valuation at $10bn pre-money, while IT Brief reported a post-money valuation of $10.5bn, the figure used for the valuation field here.

All existing investors took part. Stripe made a second investment, and Georgian and Salesforce Ventures joined as new investors. IT Brief listed Accel, Y Combinator, Craft, Felicis, Peak XV and Coatue among the existing backers.

The round came seven months after the previous one, a Series E. IT Brief reported that Supabase has now raised more than $1bn in total.

What Supabase does

Supabase was founded in 2020 and is built around Postgres. It offers a backend platform with authentication, storage, edge functions, real-time subscriptions and vector search, plus a marketplace of more than 100 partner tools, according to IT Brief.

Paul Copplestone, co-founder and chief executive, wrote in the company's announcement that he works at Supabase because it is open source.

Growth the company reports

The company said database launches grew 600% over the past year and that more than 60% of new databases are launched through some kind of AI tool. It said nearly 10 million developers build on Supabase, more than double the number at the previous fundraising announcement eight months earlier. IT Brief gave the figure as more than 9 million developers and more than 250,000 customers. These numbers come from the company.

Growth accelerated from January, which Supabase links to Claude Code and Codex widening who can build software. Supabase for Platforms, used by AI application builders, is its fastest-growing product, and IT Brief reported that it grew customers 370% over the past six months.

Copplestone said demand for Supabase is exploding and that agents now deploy the majority of databases on the platform.

What the money is for

Supabase said the proceeds will accelerate open source and Postgres tooling, support company growth and provide employee liquidity. In each round, employees can sell up to 25% of their vested stock, the company said, and they have 10 years to exercise stock options, even after leaving.

Alongside the round it released an alpha of Multigres, an open source Postgres scaling layer, under the Apache 2.0 licence. The company said version 0.1 is not yet production ready, with production readiness expected in a few months, and that sharding and Vitess-grade horizontal scaling are planned. OrioleDB, another Postgres project, is targeting production readiness this year.

The team

Supabase said its employees are based in more than 50 countries and that it does not use geo-adjusted salaries. It did not give a headcount in the sources opened for this article, and did not report revenue.

The company's announcement did not list earlier round sizes or dates, so no history is shown here beyond the Series E that IT Brief said came seven months before.
