Tabby, the buy now, pay later company that serves Saudi Arabia and the UAE, raised $233m in an equity round at a $6.5bn valuation, it announced on 14 September 2026. Hong Kong investment firm Blue Pool Capital, already a shareholder, led the round.

Existing shareholders HSG, Wellington Management and Arbor Ventures also took part. Tabby did not name the round in its announcement, but Wamda, Enterprise and Entrepreneur Middle East reported it as a Series F. The deal still needs regulatory approvals, including from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), the company said.

The round includes an option for employees to sell some of their shares. Tabby said it has run share tenders since 2023 and has handled more than $100m of share sales for current and former staff.

“We began with a button at an online checkout to help people spread costs over time. Everything since, every product and every licence, has come back to the same idea: people deserve more from their money. This round means we can build further on that, without changing how we think about growth or discipline.”Hosam Arab, CEO and Co-Founder, Tabby

What Tabby does

Tabby started as a checkout option that lets shoppers split the cost of a purchase into instalments. It was founded in 2019 in the UAE and moved its headquarters to Saudi Arabia in 2023, according to Entrepreneur Middle East. Wamda named Hosam Arab and Daniil Barkalov as its founders; Arab is chief executive.

The company said it has been profitable since 2023 and processes more than $18bn in annualised transaction volume. It reported 25 million registered users and 70,000 business partners, and its company profile lists retailers including SHEIN, Amazon, Apple, IKEA, Jarir, Samsung and noon among the brands that use it.

Over the past year Tabby has added licences that take it beyond instalment payments. In Saudi Arabia, SAMA granted it consumer and SME finance licences, which allow larger, longer-term loans to consumers and working capital for businesses. Tabby also bought Tweeq, a SAMA-licensed digital wallet, which adds accounts, cards and transfers. In the UAE it received a Stored Value Facilities licence from the Central Bank of the UAE to launch Tabby Cash, an account alternative with no account or card fees that offers cashback and local and international transfers.

What the money is for

Tabby said the new capital will fund its move from buy now, pay later into broader financial services in its two markets. Arab said the proceeds are "primarily about giving us the capital to go deeper in our two core markets", according to Enterprise.

In its announcement Arab said the company's products and licences all came back to the idea that "people deserve more from their money", and that the round would let Tabby build on that "without changing how we think about growth or discipline".

Christopher Wu, chief investment officer at Blue Pool Capital, said Tabby had evolved "beyond payments" and that the firm was proud of its partnership with the company over the past three years. Blue Pool manages the assets of Joe Tsai, members of its senior management and a group of families, according to Tabby's release.

The funding so far

The new price is roughly double the valuation of Tabby's previous primary round. Wamda reported that the company raised a $160m Series E in February 2025 at a $3.3bn valuation, and that a share sale in October 2025 valued it at $4.5bn. Tabby has not disclosed how much it has raised in total.

Tabby has not set a date for a stock market listing. "We are profitable and well capitalized, so fortunately we do not need to force the timing," Arab said, according to Enterprise, adding that if and when Tabby lists it would choose the market that makes the most sense. The company did not disclose its headcount.
