ZeroDrift, a New York company that checks AI-generated communications against regulatory rules, announced an oversubscribed $10m seed round on 2 June 2026. The investors named in the company's announcement were a16z speedrun, Reign Ventures, PitchDrive Ventures, U&I Ventures, Active Capital, Geek Ventures, Converge Ventures, Atlas SGR and Founders Future, among others.

The announcement did not name a single lead investor. A social-media post seen in search results credited PitchDrive and Reign Ventures with co-leading, but that could not be confirmed, so the lead field is left empty. No valuation was disclosed.

“Every fine paid for a communication violation in the last five years was paid because the message had already been sent.”Kumesh Aroomoogan, Founder and CEO, ZeroDrift

What ZeroDrift does

ZeroDrift describes itself as a compliance firewall for AI. Its software checks each message an AI system produces, including text, voice calls and video, against rules such as those from the SEC, FINRA, MiFID II, GDPR and HIPAA before it is sent. In a report by TechCrunch, republished by FeedBagel, the system was described as a dual-model approach that sits between AI models and end users, flags messages that may pose a compliance problem and replaces them.

The company says it has gained traction with tier-one banks, asset managers and insurance companies, though it named no customers. It also says its traction has doubled month over month, a figure that comes from the company.

The founders

Kumesh Aroomoogan is the founder and chief executive. He previously co-founded and led Accern, a no-code language-processing platform for financial institutions that raised more than $60m and was acquired in 2025. The company's announcement lists him among Forbes 30 Under 30 honourees.

The founding team includes a former global head of engineering at Goldman Sachs, a co-founder of core systems for Microsoft's Bing Search and AdCenter, and a leader of Chrome OS Enterprise development at Google. The announcement did not name them or give a headcount, but said ZeroDrift is hiring in AI research, engineering, product and enterprise sales.

What the money is for

The seed round will fund wider rule coverage across regulated industries globally, support for AI voice, video and agent communication channels, and continued work on the API layer that governs AI agents in production.

Aroomoogan said in the announcement: "Every fine paid for a communication violation in the last five years was paid because the message had already been sent." Jonathan Lai, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, said compliance is about to become the rate-limiting factor for AI in the enterprise.

Earlier funding

ZeroDrift left stealth on 11 February 2026 with a $2m pre-seed round led by a16z speedrun, according to Enterprise AI World. That announcement described the product as an AI-native communication firewall that connects to email, browsers, CRMs, websites, social platforms and AI systems, flags problems with suggested fixes and enforces SEC, FINRA and firm-specific rules. The seed round came about four months later.

The firm was founded recently, and the sources opened did not give a founding year, so that field is left blank.
