Aformic, a maker of autonomous mobile robots for factories, has raised $6.95m in a seed round led by Veteran Ventures Capital. The company announced the round on 4 November 2026. It is Aformic's first institutional funding round.

Veteran Ventures Capital invested through its second fund. ff Venture Capital, Red Beard Ventures, Mana Ventures, Alamo Angels and strategic angel investors also took part. Aformic did not disclose a valuation.

Derren Burrell, founder and managing partner of Veteran Ventures Capital, has joined Aformic's board, Robotics Business News reported.

“America's manufacturers need skilled workers building products, not moving materials. Our robots free them to do that.”Michal Fiuk, CEO, Aformic

What Aformic builds

Aformic designs and deploys autonomous mobile robots that move materials around factories and feed production lines. Its range includes low-profile platforms that drive under carts and lift them, and autonomous forklifts. Robotics Business News reported that the robots can carry up to 2,000 lbs and navigate with lidar-based mapping accurate to one centimetre. Its Qursor software assigns tasks and plans routes for whole fleets.

When a production line changes, Aformic updates the software and the robots' links to plant systems rather than rebuilding the factory floor, Robotics Business News reported.

The company says it has hundreds of robots in production, which drove more than 186,000 miles inside customer facilities over the past 12 months and handle more than 5,000 production or delivery orders a day on average. It reports more than $34m in orders to date. Named customers include Toyota, NGK, Oshkosh Defense, Hitachi, First Solar, Kelvion, 3M, Hyundai Mobis and Vesuvius.

Where it comes from

Aformic is a spinout of AIUT, an industrial automation and robotics group with more than 30 years of engineering history. Aformic is headquartered in Duncan, South Carolina, in the US south-east manufacturing corridor, and has an engineering and production centre in Gliwice, Poland.

Chief executive Michal Fiuk is a West Point graduate and US Army veteran. "America's manufacturers need skilled workers building products, not moving materials. Our robots free them to do that," he said in the investor's release.

Burrell said Veteran Ventures believes physical AI will transform American manufacturing and that Aformic can lead that shift.

What the money is for

Aformic said it will grow its forward-deployed engineering and sales teams, keep developing Qursor and build hardware for new uses, including the construction and maintenance of AI data centres. The investor's release said the money will help the company expand across North American manufacturing and defence industrial markets.

RuntimeWire described the investor's bet as one that Aformic's commercial factory business can carry it into Army depots and defence plants that need more output from existing facilities. Robotics Business News reported that the US Army is spending $18bn to modernise and automate depots dating from the Second World War, and that up to 1.9 million US manufacturing jobs could go unfilled through 2033.

The company did not disclose its founding year, headcount or revenue in its announcement.

"This investment will accelerate our North American expansion," Fiuk told Robotics Business News.
