Blnk, an Egyptian consumer-finance company, announced $37.1m in new funding on 8 June 2026, made up of a $12.5m Series A and $24.6m in local debt facilities. Algebra Ventures led the equity round, according to Wamda and FinTech Global.
SANAD Fund for MSME, Endeavor Catalyst and Emirates International Investment Company also invested. EIIC had backed Blnk at seed stage. No valuation was disclosed.
The debt came from National Bank of Egypt, Suez Canal Bank and Bank Albaraka, along with the non-bank lenders Corplease, Globalcorp and BM Lease. Wamda said the list was not necessarily complete.

What Blnk does
Blnk provides point-of-sale consumer financing in Egypt. Customers apply in about three minutes with minimal paperwork, and loans run from six to 36 months. Underwriting is automated, using proprietary algorithms and machine learning models that estimate the probability of default in real time, FinTech Global reported.
The company says it works with more than 3,000 merchants selling electronics, household appliances, automotive services, furniture and other goods. It was founded in 2021 by Amr Sultan and Tarek Elsheikh, according to Wamda.
The company's two founders are Amr Sultan, who is chief executive, and Tarek Elsheikh. Wamda said the company did not state its headcount, and the other sources did not either.
Traction the company reports
Blnk says it has onboarded more than one million customers since its seed round and that its loan portfolio exceeds EGP 1bn. About 75% of its users were previously unbanked or underserved, and more than 35% are women. It said it became profitable in 2025, with revenue up 173% year on year. These figures come from the company and absolute revenue was not disclosed.
The raise lands in a growing market. Wamda, citing Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority, said consumer finance reached EGP 96.3bn ($2.0bn) in 2025, up 57.1% on the year, while fewer than an estimated 5% of adults have access to formal credit.
What the money is for
Blnk said it will expand its product range and loan sizes, strengthen its technology, explore expansion into other countries and launch a credit card programme that lets customers use their credit limit beyond Blnk's merchant network. It also plans to focus on onboarding women and the underbanked.
Wamda cited Sultan, the chief executive, as saying that the investors' continued belief in the mission is a powerful endorsement of what the company is building.
Karim Hussein, managing partner at Algebra Ventures, pointed to Blnk's ability to serve the underserved, particularly unbanked and underbanked consumers.
The funding so far
Blnk completed a seed round in November 2022, according to FinTech Global. Wamda also referred to a 2022 raise of $32m in mixed equity and debt, though the article did not say how much of it was equity. Neither source gave a total funding figure, so none is stated here.
Sandra Rohleder, chairperson of the board of SANAD Fund for MSME, said Blnk is redefining what financial inclusion looks like in emerging markets.
