Chronograph, a New York company that sells portfolio monitoring and analytics software to private capital investors, announced on 16 June 2026 a minority growth equity investment of more than $140m from Sixth Street Growth, the growth investing arm of Sixth Street. The company did not disclose a valuation.

Existing investors Summit Partners, Carlyle AlpInvest, Nasdaq Ventures and Sidekick Partners are keeping their minority stakes. Michael Bauer and Alex Goodman of Sixth Street Growth will join Chronograph's board as part of the deal.

Chronograph said it will spend the money on three things: expanding its AI product suite, speeding up a new private credit portfolio monitoring platform, and growing its presence outside the United States.

“Sixth Street’s investment reflects a major milestone for Chronograph and the trust we have built over the last 10 years”Charlie Tafoya, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chronograph

What Chronograph does

Chronograph provides portfolio monitoring, valuation and analytics technology to institutional limited partners (LPs) and general partners (GPs) in private capital. In practice that means collecting data on funds and their holdings and turning it into reports and analysis that investors can use.

The company was founded in 2016 and has offices in Brooklyn, New York and in London. Chronograph says it serves 8 of the 10 largest private capital GPs and 5 of the 10 largest LPs in the world. It reports that it monitors more than $5.9 trillion of client invested capital, across 15,000 unique funds and 258,000 private companies. Those figures come from the company. It did not disclose its headcount.

In 2025 Chronograph became a launch partner for Claude for Financial Services, which brings its portfolio data into Anthropic's Claude, according to Dealroom.

AI and private credit

Co-founder and chief technology officer Michael Bridge framed the AI push around trust in the answers. "Getting an answer from an LLM is easy," he said in the announcement. According to Dealroom, he described the harder part as getting an answer that can be trusted and defended to an auditor, a limited partner or an investment committee.

The private credit platform is the other new product line. Private credit funds hold loans rather than equity stakes, so they need different monitoring from the venture and buyout funds that Chronograph built its name on. The company said the new platform is being launched and that the funding will accelerate it.

Chronograph did not publish a timetable or product details beyond that.

Who invested

Sixth Street Growth is the new lead. Sixth Street is a global investment firm, and its growth platform makes minority investments in expanding companies. The Chronograph announcement describes the existing backers as Summit Partners, Carlyle AlpInvest, Nasdaq Ventures and Sidekick Partners, all of which keep their positions.

Chronograph CEO and co-founder Charlie Tafoya said Sixth Street's investment "reflects a major milestone for Chronograph and the trust we have built over the last 10 years".

Deutsche Bank was Chronograph's sole financial advisor and Lowenstein Sandler its legal advisor. Houlihan Lokey advised Sixth Street Growth financially and Goodwin Procter advised it legally.

The funding so far

Chronograph has not said how much it had raised before this deal. Dealroom's data lists $163m raised in total, but the company's own announcement gives no earlier round sizes, so this article does not use that figure as a reported total.

The deal is described as a growth equity investment rather than a venture round. Its size, more than $140m, is large for the company, but it gave no revenue or profitability figures against which to judge it.
