CNTXT AI, a UAE-based data and AI company, said on 16 June 2026 that it had closed a $60m Series A round. AI71, an Abu Dhabi applied AI company, and BlueFive Capital co-led the round. The company did not disclose a valuation.

The money will go to product development, entry into new markets and the deployment of secure sovereign AI infrastructure for enterprise and government customers around the world, according to Wamda and Middle East AI News.

“The era of AI experimentation is over; the era of execution has begun.”Mohammad Abu Sheikh, Founder and CEO, CNTXT AI

What CNTXT AI does

CNTXT AI helps organisations build AI applications while keeping full control of their data. Its pitch is sovereign infrastructure: AI that runs under the customer's own legal and technical control rather than in a vendor's cloud.

Its best-known product is Munsit, an Arabic voice AI. Wamda reports that Munsit serves more than 250 enterprises and 150,000 users, and that CNTXT AI has worked with Oracle, NVIDIA and AWS. Middle East AI News lists Oracle, NVIDIA and AWS as partners and adds a second product, TestAI, an AI performance and reliability assessment suite. It names target sectors as customer service, banking, healthcare, media and government.

The company was founded in 2023 by Mohammad Abu Sheikh, who is its chief executive. Neither report gives a headcount or the city where the company is based.

Who invested

AI71 and BlueFive Capital co-led the round. Middle East AI News describes BlueFive as a GCC-originated global asset manager with $7.4bn in assets under management. Wamda says Abu Sheikh's earlier company, LocAI, was sold to AI71, which makes AI71's backing a return to a founder it already knows.

Reda Nidhakou, a board member of AI71 and chief executive of VentureOne, said "CNTXT AI capabilities and speed of execution stand out in this fast-moving AI world". Hazem Ben-Gacem, founder and chief executive of BlueFive Capital, said his firm backed the company because it is building "exactly the kind of technology-driven platform the region needs".

A busy month

The funding follows an acquisition. CNTXT AI bought Actualize, a startup working on dialect-aware Arabic voice agents, earlier in June 2026, according to Wamda and Middle East AI News. Together with the Series A, the deal suggests the company is concentrating on Arabic-language voice AI as well as infrastructure.

Abu Sheikh also runs SMPL AI, a $25m fund for early-stage AI startups, Wamda reports.

Abu Sheikh said in the announcement: "The era of AI experimentation is over; the era of execution has begun."

What is not known

Neither the company nor the two outlets disclosed earlier funding, revenue, valuation or the split of the $60m between uses. Customer numbers such as the 250 enterprises and 150,000 Munsit users are company figures that the reports repeat without independent checks.

What the round shows is the appetite of Gulf investors for locally controlled AI infrastructure. Both lead investors are rooted in the region, and the stated use of funds is to take the company's infrastructure to customers outside the UAE as well.
