Comand AI, a Paris-based defence technology company, raised a €32m (about $37.1m) Series A announced on 17 June 2026 at the Eurosatory defence show. Blossom Capital led the round. Saab joined as a strategic investor and Expeditions returned as an existing backer. No valuation was disclosed.

The company will spend the money expanding its Prevail product across France and other NATO markets, developing it further with operational units in Ukraine, and industrialising the platform for large-scale adoption.

What Comand AI does

Comand AI describes itself as a European defence technology company rebuilding the software stack for defence and security operations. Its product, Prevail, is an AI-native command-and-control workspace that includes what the company calls a digital command staff: specialised agents for mission analysis, course-of-action generation, tactical situation control and after-action review.

The company has offices in Paris and London and is led by co-founder and chief executive Loïc Mougeolle. Over the past twelve months, it says, Prevail has been deployed with operational units in France, Germany, Ukraine and other allied nations. It did not give headcount or revenue figures.

Mougeolle said: "We are moving from a battlefield governed by words to a battlefield governed by mathematics."

The Saab link

Saab's role goes beyond the investment. According to the announcement, the two companies will develop new software for Saab's GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft, build the foundations for a next-generation command-and-control ecosystem, and integrate Prevail into Saab's existing command-and-control products.

Carl-Johan Bergholm, Saab's head of business area Surveillance, said the collaboration "also underlines the value of European cooperation in support of long-term security".

The Next Web, which reported the round, gave the same description of the Saab partnership.

The Next Web, which reported the round, gave the same description of the Saab partnership as the company's announcement.

GlobalEye is an airborne early warning and control aircraft. Neither source says which customers will buy the new software or when it will be delivered.

Where the money goes

Comand AI's plan for the funding has four parts: wider rollout in France and NATO countries, more development work alongside units in Ukraine, preparing the platform for large-scale adoption, and expansion beyond land into air and maritime operations. The air work is already under way and the maritime work is planned before the end of 2026.

Maxim Frenkel, a partner at Blossom Capital, said: "Wars are increasingly decided by the speed and quality of command decisions."

Funding and market context

The announcement page refers to an earlier €8.5m raise in a link title but gives no date, and the Next Web did not quantify earlier funding, so this article does not report a funding history.

The Next Web framed the Comand AI round as backing for the software layer that sits above hardware makers' systems. Neither the company nor the outlet disclosed how much revenue the Saab partnership is expected to bring.
