Flagright, which sells an AI operating system for financial crime compliance, raised a $12.5m Series A announced on 17 June 2026. Infinity Ventures led. Sella Direct Ventures joined, and existing backers Frontline and Y Combinator took part again. No valuation was disclosed.
The company said it will use the money to extend explainable AI across investigations, alert intelligence, rule optimisation, decision support and audit-ready workflows, to grow with banks, fintechs and credit unions, and to strengthen its presence in the United States.

What Flagright does
Flagright describes itself as an AI operating system for financial crime compliance. Its single platform covers transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, risk scoring, case management, AI forensics, investigations and governance workflows, according to Tech.eu and FinTech Global.
The company's pitch is to combine compliance infrastructure with explainable AI, keeping transparency, auditability and human oversight in place. It sells to banks, fintechs, credit unions and other regulated institutions that want to replace outdated or fragmented compliance tools.
Tech.eu reports the company has more than 100 fintechs and banks as customers across 30 countries. That figure comes from the company. Neither report states Flagright's headcount, founding year or earlier funding amounts.
What the founders said
Baran Ozkan, co-founder and chief executive, said that regulated financial institutions need "a system that gives them speed, control, explainability and auditability", according to FinTech Global. Co-founder and chief technology officer Madhu Nadig told the same outlet: "The market does not need another black box tool."
Tech.eu quoted Ozkan saying the financial crime compliance stack is being rebuilt, and Nadig saying the company is building the system of choice for sophisticated institutions.
Who invested
Infinity Ventures is the lead. Sella Direct Ventures is a new investor in the round. Frontline Ventures and Y Combinator are existing backers who continue their support.
The round does not name individual angels or give the split of the $12.5m among investors.
FinTech Global reported the same lead and participants as Tech.eu. Both describe Frontline and Y Combinator as existing investors who continued to back the company.
The round is Flagright's Series A. Neither report gives the amounts of its earlier funding, so the size of its total capital raised is not known from these sources.
Why compliance is attracting AI funding
Banks and fintechs face alert volumes that are costly to review by hand, and regulators expect firms to be able to explain why a transaction was or was not flagged. That makes explainability a selling point, not just a feature, for any vendor using machine learning in monitoring.
Flagright's focus on audit-ready workflows reflects this. The company has said it wants to define what it calls the operating system layer for the category, which puts it against both established compliance vendors and newer AI-first start-ups.
The announcement did not include revenue figures, and the US expansion plan was described only in general terms.
