Flyle, a Tokyo company that builds AI tools for customer service, raised ¥1.88bn (about $12m) in a Series A round through an allotment of new shares, it announced on 7 October 2026.
Investors were ALPHA, ALL STAR SAAS FUND, Firstlight Capital, Aflac Ventures Japan, Japan Post Capital, Salesforce Ventures, MUFG Capital, Mizuho Capital and SMBC Venture Capital. Flyle said the round included both existing and new investors, but did not name a lead. ALL STAR SAAS FUND, which led Flyle's previous round, made an additional investment.
The company said it has now raised about ¥2.27bn (about $14.5m) since it was founded. It did not disclose a valuation.
What Flyle does
Flyle was founded in February 2020 by Yuichi Takabe, its chief executive. It started out with a product management tool that gathered customer feedback from services such as Slack, Zendesk, Jira and Salesforce and linked it to development work. The product entered closed beta in December 2020 and launched in June 2021.
The company has since moved into AI for contact centres. Its main new product, AI Operator, handles enquiries by phone, chat and email and connects to a company's internal systems so that it can complete orders, changes and other procedures for customers. Flyle said AI Operator will officially launch in November.
Flyle also sells AI tools that rate the quality of customer-service conversations, analyse the voice of the customer, run customer-experience surveys and AI-led interviews, and a data platform that ties these together. Named customers include Nippon Ham, Orient Corporation, Kaunet and Q'SAI. The company is based in Akasaka, in Tokyo's Minato ward, and did not disclose revenue or headcount.
What the money is for
Flyle said it will use the funds to strengthen product development and customer support, and to step up its help for large companies that are adopting AI in stages.
In the announcement, Takabe said Flyle had worked since its founding on building a system that keeps customers choosing a company.
The funding so far
Flyle raised ¥81m (about $0.7m) in a seed round in June 2021, according to the Japanese start-up publication The Bridge. In July 2022 it raised ¥300m (about $2.2m) in a pre-Series A round led by ALL STAR SAAS FUND, the SaaS fund of BEENEXT, with UB Ventures and Tably, the firm of former Google engineer Takuya Oikawa.
The new round is more than six times the size of that pre-Series A and brings in a broader group of investors. Alongside Salesforce Ventures, it includes the venture units of the three largest Japanese banking groups, MUFG, Mizuho and SMBC, as well as the corporate venture arms of Aflac and Japan Post.
Firstlight Capital said it would continue to support the company, which suggests it was among the existing backers. Flyle did not say which of the other investors were new.
