Gaia, a Saudi Arabia-based startup building an AI platform for businesses, raised $1.5m in a pre-seed round led by Seedra Ventures, Wamda reported on 8 September 2026.
No other investors were named, and the company did not disclose a valuation. Wamda reported that Gaia was founded in 2026.
“Enterprise knowledge is often fragmented across systems, emails, documents, and teams, limiting an organisation's ability to operate effectively. Gaia transforms that knowledge into actionable intelligence, enabling enterprises to make faster better decisions, improve productivity, and automate work securely without the fear of data ever leaving the organisation.”Badr Al-Malluh, Co-Founder and CEO, Gaia
What Gaia does
Gaia connects a company's knowledge, files, emails, business systems and workflows into a single layer that employees can query and act on. It has three main parts: an enterprise search tool that gives answers with links to the file, thread or record they came from; a generative AI assistant that answers from the organisation's own data; and AI agents that complete tasks across applications, automate recurring work such as summaries and reports, and run full workflows.
The platform respects existing access permissions, so employees only see information they are already allowed to see, and higher-risk actions taken by agents are sent to a person for approval before they run, according to Wamda and Sharikat Mubasher.
On its website, Gaia says employees spend around 12 hours a week searching for information across email, files, chats and other systems. Customers can use its ready-made agents or build their own without technical skills, and the platform connects to the tools a team already uses without moving data elsewhere, the company says.
Gaia describes itself as a sovereign platform in which data does not leave the organisation. Its website says it can be deployed on a company's own servers, in a private cloud or fully offline, that customer data is not used to train models, and that the product was built for Saudi companies and works in more than one language. The site also lists compliance with Saudi data and financial-sector rules among its design goals.
Who is behind it
Gaia was founded by Badr Al-Malluh, its co-founder and chief executive, and Mohammad Rababah, its co-founder and chief product and technology officer, according to Wamda. The company did not give its headcount or the city where it is based.
In the announcement, the company cited industry research that it said showed 60% of employees cannot find the information they need at work, 30% of their time is spent gathering context, and 70% of leaders at large enterprises see data security as a barrier to adopting AI.
What the money is for
Gaia said it would use the funding to keep developing its platform and to work with Saudi enterprises as they bring AI into their operations. It did not give a more detailed breakdown.
The company linked its plans to the digital transformation of Saudi organisations under the country's Vision 2030 programme, saying it wanted to give them a trusted base for using AI on their own data. Its website positions the product against general-purpose assistants, arguing that these know little about a specific company's information.
The round is the first funding Gaia has disclosed.
