Juspay, the Bengaluru payments infrastructure company, raised $50m in a Series D follow-on round led by WestBridge Capital, announced on 23 January 2026. The round values the company at $1.2bn, up from about $900m in the previous round, according to Entrackr. Avendus Capital was Juspay's exclusive financial adviser.
The round mixes primary and secondary investment, according to both Entrackr and Juspay's newsroom, and neither gave the split. Entrackr described the company as the first unicorn of 2026.

What Juspay does
Juspay was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Bengaluru. Its offerings include payment orchestration, authentication, tokenisation and core payments infrastructure for banks, according to Entrackr. The company focuses on open-source, interoperable and modular payments systems.
Juspay says annualised total payment volume exceeds $1 trillion and that it processes more than 300 million transactions a day. It serves more than 500 enterprises and banks, including Agoda, Amazon, Flipkart, Google, HSBC, IndiGo, Swiggy, Zepto and Zurich Insurance, according to its newsroom. These are company figures. It has more than 1,500 payment experts, it says.
Products and expansion
Pulse 2.0 reported that Juspay evolved from payment orchestration to full-stack UPI capabilities and more recently to core payments infrastructure for banks. It builds open-source, interoperable and modular infrastructure and invests in AI to improve workforce productivity and the merchant experience.
Entrackr listed expansion regions as Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, the UK and North America. Juspay's newsroom named offices in San Francisco, Dublin, São Paulo, Singapore and Dubai. Reports differ on its financial results for the year to March 2025, so none are given here.
What the money is for
The primary capital will fund global expansion and product development, according to Entrackr. The secondary portion gives partial liquidity to early investors and employees who hold stock options. Juspay described it as the second such liquidity opportunity it has enabled within a year.
Juspay's newsroom also mentioned advancing AI capabilities for workforce productivity and the merchant experience. Sheetal Lalwani, co-founder and chief operating officer, was quoted on solving the core complexities of global payments.
Who invested
WestBridge Capital is described in the release as a global investment firm with about $7bn in assets under management and offices in Bangalore, Silicon Valley and Mauritius. Deepak Ramineedi, a partner there, said Juspay has consistently demonstrated an ability to stay ahead of the curve and is solving deep-tech problems in payments while keeping growth sustainable and profitable. Lalwani said in the release: "We welcome WestBridge Capital as a partner as we build the next generation of payments infrastructure."
Entrackr listed earlier rounds. A $60m Series D led by Kedaara Capital, with SoftBank and Accel participating, was announced in April 2025 and included a secondary component. A $60m Series C was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 in December 2021, with Wellington Management and VEF, at an estimated valuation of about $460m. VEF led a Series B in 2020, and Accel gave early institutional backing in 2016.
