Marble Cognition, a Munich start-up that builds AI agents to take over routine business processes, has raised $3.75m in a pre-seed round. Seedcamp, which co-led the round with Heartcore, announced the investment on 2 November 2026.
Angel investors also took part. Tech.eu and Tech Funding News reported that they include a Datadog board member, a founder of Personio and executives from McKinsey, Mistral AI and Lovable. The company did not disclose a valuation.
“Every company we talk to wants AI to take over real work. But nobody can tell the AI how that work is actually done.”Felix Rösner, Co-founder, Marble Cognition
What Marble does
Marble's software starts by observing. A desktop app records how employees work in business applications, including what is on screen, clicks and keystrokes, and turns that activity into a structured map of each process. The company then deploys AI agents, which it calls Marble Coworkers, to carry out those processes in the tools a company already uses, with people stepping in where a decision or approval is needed.
The company says private apps, private browser tabs and activity outside working hours are not recorded, that employees can pause the recording, and that data is anonymised and analysed in aggregate. Tech Funding News reported that staff can delete their own data and that data is stored in Europe, or in Germany for German customers.
Co-founder Felix Rösner, who started the company with Christophe Schmit in late 2025, said the problem is that most of how work gets done is never written down. Marble estimates that about 90% of core processes at its customers are undocumented, living instead in inboxes, spreadsheets and people's heads.
The company points to research from the McKinsey Global Institute estimating that technology available today could, in theory, automate about 57% of working hours in the US. Marble's argument is that companies cannot capture that potential until they know how the work is actually done.
Customers and early results
Marble's deployments include EGYM, Mutares and Enam, according to Tech.eu and Tech Funding News. Seedcamp said one customer, a US financial services company owned by a private equity firm, cut handling time per case by 90% and processed 50% more cases in the first month without hiring.
Tech Funding News reported that Rösner said the round closed in under two weeks and that the company wants its customer base split evenly between the US and Europe.
What the money is for
Marble plans to spend the money on more computing capacity to run its models, a bigger engineering team in Munich and a launch in the US. The company has not said how many people it employs.
Max Niederhofer, a partner at Heartcore, told Tech Funding News that AI models are becoming commodities and that knowledge of how work is done is the scarce input for automation. Reshma Sohoni of Seedcamp placed Marble alongside earlier Seedcamp investments in workplace software such as UiPath and Synthesia.
This is the first funding Marble has announced.
