Seapoint, a startup that builds an AI-native financial operations platform for European start-ups, raised a €7.5m (about $8.8m) seed round, announced on 21 April 2026. The London fintech investor 13books led the round, and Michael McFadgen of 13books joins Seapoint's board, according to FinTech Global.
Frontline Ventures and Tapestry VC, which led an earlier pre-seed round, returned. Ventures Together and Portfolio Ventures also invested, along with more than 40 angel investors. The company's total funding is now €10m, raised in a little over a year. No valuation was disclosed.
What Seapoint does
Seapoint targets venture-backed companies from pre-seed to Series A. FinTech Global said the platform automates reporting, bookkeeping, expense management and payroll, and offers multi-currency accounts, payments, cards, treasury and foreign exchange. The Next Web reported that it connects to bank accounts, Gmail and Xero, categorises transactions by vendor, and offers a money market treasury account through Wealthkernel and BlackRock money market funds, plus virtual team cards.
Cash-flow forecasting, physical cards, foreign exchange and US dollar accounts are planned for later in 2026, according to The Next Web. Founders can connect banks, accounting tools and email within ten minutes, FinTech Global reported.
Opening to founders
With the funding, Seapoint has ended its waitlist. Self-service sign-up is now open to founders in the UK and Ireland, after a private beta with more than 80 design partners. The Next Web reported more than 80 customers, more than 100,000 transactions processed and more than 40,000 invoices processed.
The company also said that a founder with £400,000 in the treasury account could earn about £14,000 in interest over a year. That is the company's own illustration, and the sources did not say what interest rate it assumes.
The team and backers
Sean Mullaney is the chief executive. FinTech Global described him as a former European chief information officer at Stripe, and The Next Web added that he was previously chief technology officer at Algolia. FinTech Global said the company was founded in January 2025 and that more than half of the team are Stripe alumni. The sources did not give a headcount. The Next Web gave the company's base as Dublin and London.
The angel investors named by FinTech Global include Claire Hughes Johnson, a former chief operating officer of Stripe, Laurence Krieger, a former UK chief executive of Tide and chief operating officer of Revolut, Des Traynor, a co-founder of Intercom, and Luke Mackey, chief executive of Kota. The Next Web named Claire Hughes Johnson, George Bevis, the founder of Tide, and Des Traynor.
The funding so far
The Next Web reported that Frontline Ventures and Tapestry VC led a €2.5m pre-seed round in September 2025. The seed round takes total funding to €10m. FinTech Global gave the stated use of the money as scaling the platform across Europe, and McFadgen said 13books is backing the team to become the financial home for the next generation of European companies.
