What Bidso does
Bidso describes itself as a design-led manufacturing platform for the global toys and consumer products ecosystem. Its current focus is toys, with plans to widen into adjacent consumer product categories. The Tribune carried the company's press release, which called its model FOCO. Entrepreneur India described that as an asset-light franchise-owned, company-operated model that lets it add manufacturing capacity without heavy capital spending.
Over the past 12 months it acquired licences for Peppa Pig, Harry Potter, Transformers and NASA, which it uses to develop product ranges for brand partners. The company said its revenue more than doubled in the last 12 months but did not disclose the figure, and these claims were not independently checked. The Tribune noted that it was not responsible for the accuracy of the release, which was carried as an advertorial.
Founders and earlier funding
The Tribune named Vivek Singhal as co-founder and chief executive and Rahul Agarwal as co-founder and chief business officer. Entrepreneur India described the founders as former Flipkart and Udaan executives.
According to the Tribune, Bidso raised a seed round in July 2023 led by Peer Capital, and a pre-Series A in January 2025 from Peer Capital, Sadev Ventures, Marshot Ventures and Atrium Ventures. Amounts were not given. The company's founding year and headcount were not reported.
What the money is for
The company said it will use the funds to strengthen product design and manufacturing capabilities, expand its manufacturing footprint and production capacity, scale its product portfolio, and grow its design, engineering, production and sales teams for domestic and international markets.
Entrepreneur India reported that the plan includes building a pipeline of IP-led products and expanding into Europe, the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the United States. It said the company targets revenue of ₹400 crore to ₹500 crore over the next two to three years.
The China+1 argument
Sajith Pai, a partner at Blume Ventures, said: "After textiles, toys is shaping up to be one of the bigger beneficiaries of the China+1 shift." The phrase refers to global brands diversifying production away from China.
Bidso's co-founder Vivek Singhal said the company is disrupting the traditional manufacturing bottleneck by integrating product design and licensing execution.
Ankur Pahwa, managing partner at Peer Capital, said Bidso had built the kind of capability spine that Indian manufacturing has lacked. Rahul Agarwal said the shift creates a strong opportunity for India to emerge as a hub for design-led manufacturing. Both remarks come from the company's press release as carried by the Tribune.
