DayOne, a Singapore-headquartered developer of hyperscale data centres, announced a Series C equity financing of more than $2bn in January 2026. The round was led by Coatue, an existing investor, and the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) also took part, according to trade outlets Intelligent CIO APAC and W.Media. Investors came from the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
DayOne did not disclose a valuation. It said the round was priced at a 100% premium to the previous round. Intelligent CIO described it as one of the largest private capital raises in the global data centre sector.
“further strengthens our ability to expand our European and Asia-Pacific platforms”Jamie Khoo, CEO, DayOne
What DayOne does
DayOne builds and operates high-density, AI-ready data centre campuses for hyperscale cloud and AI customers. It is headquartered in Singapore and, according to a later company statement reported by W.Media, was founded in 2022.
The company said it has secured commitments of about 1GW of capacity. W.Media reported that this covers AI-ready and sustainable facilities. A later announcement put DayOne's bookings across Asia-Pacific and Europe at more than 1.5GW.
What the money is for
DayOne said the new capital would fund expansion in Europe and Asia-Pacific. In Europe, two campuses in Finland, at Lahti and Kouvola, are to lead its entry into the region, according to W.Media.
In Asia, the company is scaling out across the SIJORI region, meaning Singapore, Johor in Malaysia and Batam in Indonesia, as well as Thailand, Japan and Hong Kong. Intelligent CIO reported that DayOne's chief executive, Jamie Khoo, said the investment showed strong confidence in the company's strategy.
W.Media quoted Khoo as saying the capital "further strengthens our ability to expand our European and Asia-Pacific platforms". Robert Yin, general partner and head of AI infrastructure at Coatue, said in the same report that DayOne continues to rapidly expand its data centre platform in APAC and Europe.
Who invested
Coatue led the round and is described as an existing investor. The Indonesia Investment Authority, the country's sovereign wealth fund, joined. W.Media quoted its chief executive, Ridha Wirakusumah, as referring to the joint venture the authority established with DayOne in Indonesia in 2023.
Other participants were described only as leading institutions from the three regions; they were not named in the sources reviewed. DealStreetAsia also reported the round on 6 January 2026 under the headline calling DayOne Coatue-backed, but its article text was behind a registration wall.
The funding so far
DayOne raised a combined $1.9bn in Series A and Series B rounds in 2024, according to both Intelligent CIO and W.Media. In 2025 it secured a mezzanine debt facility of up to €1bn.
The Series C was later extended. In June 2026 W.Media reported that DayOne had announced the final close of the Series C at gross proceeds of $4.5bn, led by existing investors Coatue Management and Hillhouse Investment, which became its two largest shareholders. INA and Achi Capital Partners were named as new investors in that close. The company said it may continue to consider additional equity and debt financing options.
This article covers the initial tranche of more than $2bn announced in January; the $4.5bn figure is the total for the whole Series C once it closed.
