“We're building the AI platform that understands every home.”Ryan Fink, CEO and Co-founder, Digs
What Digs does
Digs, founded in 2022, makes AI software for residential construction. It aims to move the industry away from paper-based processes by turning building paperwork into one central reference for a home. Chief executive and co-founder Ryan Fink said in the announcement: "We're building the AI platform that understands every home."
Fink told HousingWire that a builder's workflow is disjointed and broken, and described the product as something like ChatGPT trained on build data with access to a specific project.
Dallas Innovates reported that the platform will bring plans, specifications, selections, products, approvals, warranties and project history into one source for estimating, purchasing, construction, design, sales and home care. The shared record is eventually to include AI chats, files, e-signatures, QR codes, comments, tasks and collaboration tools.
Fink said the companies are creating "the first scalable true digital twin of the home for homeowners", and that Digs's vision has always been beyond construction software.
Dallas Innovates described Fink and Frackiewicz as technology and construction veterans who set out to move the industry away from paper-based processes. Fink said: "Our vision has always been beyond construction software."
The Builders FirstSource deal
Builders FirstSource serves more than 140,000 customers from about 565 locations in 43 states. The five-year agreement covers integrating Digs's platform with the supplier's, along with joint product development.
Peter Jackson, the supplier's chief executive, said customers are looking for seamless technology that helps them operate more efficiently. He told HousingWire the value is that it frees up talented individuals.
Planned homeowner features include AI-powered diagramming and finish selections. After a builder completes a home, the platform is to generate a tailored homeowner's guide covering maintenance, warranties and custom services, according to Dallas Innovates.
What the money is for
The release does not say how the Series A proceeds will be spent. It describes the goals of the commercial agreement as speeding up product development, tightening platform integration and broadening AI features.
HousingWire called the $25.3m a strategic investment.
Builders FirstSource's Jackson said customers want technology that helps them operate more efficiently and improve the homeowner experience, according to Dallas Innovates.
What is not known

Dallas Innovates named the other co-founder as Ty Frackiewicz and said Digs is based in Vancouver, Washington.
