Factorial, a Barcelona company that sells HR and business management software, raised a $150m Series D at a $2.5bn valuation, announced on 3 June 2026. General Catalyst led the round, its first equity investment in the company. Atomico and Four Rivers also took part.

The Next Web reported that the valuation is up from roughly $2bn, a figure that Bloomberg reported during funding talks in March 2026.

Separately from the equity round, General Catalyst committed up to $540m through its Customer Value Fund. According to Factorial, that brings General Catalyst's total committed capital to more than $700m. The fund's returns are tied to the customer value created by the spending it supports, and capped at a fixed amount, so Factorial says it can grow without burning cash or taking on more dilution.

What Factorial does

Factorial started as HR software for small and mid-sized businesses and now calls itself an AI workforce operations platform, with HR, finance and IT as core areas. Its unified workspace, Factorial One, uses two agents: one represents the organisation and applies its policies, the other represents individual employees.

The company says it serves more than 16,000 business customers in over 90 countries. The Next Web reported that it was founded in 2016 by Jordi Romero, Bernat Farrero and Pau Ramon Revilla and employs about 2,600 people.

Where the money goes

Factorial said the money will pay for sales and marketing and growth across Europe, with a large share going to Germany, which it calls its most important market in Europe. It is opening a Munich office and plans to scale hiring in Germany over the next 12 months across sales, customer success, product, marketing and engineering. France, Italy and Portugal are among its fastest-growing markets.

The company said it plans to hire up to 50 people a week globally.

Romero said, "Germany is our most important market in Europe, and it has been underserved for too long."

Who invested

Pranav Singhvi, a partner at General Catalyst, said the next decade of enterprise software will belong to the companies that rebuild themselves around AI. General Catalyst chief executive Hemant Taneja said the firm's goal is to be the first and last source of capital for the world's most ambitious companies.

Atomico and Four Rivers joined as co-investors. Neither the press release nor The Next Web gave Factorial's earlier funding rounds or total raised, so none is listed here.

A European scale-up

Factorial said that with this round it enters the top 20 most valuable companies in the EU and passes many Spanish scale-ups. It describes itself as the only company in its sector to have internationalised successfully across these European markets after ten years of growth.

The company did not disclose revenue. One outlet seen in search results reported the round in euros at a lower valuation, but that figure conflicts with the dollar figures in the company's release and in The Next Web, which are used here.
