“We are grateful for the confidence our investors have placed in our vision, product, and long-term goals”Mostafa Masry, CEO, Fincart
What Fincart does
Fincart gives online merchants one interface for shipping, customer engagement and short-term cash advances based on their sales. It began as a platform connecting merchants to last-mile shipping and speeding up reconciliation of cash on delivery, which the founders knew from poor delivery service.
The platform integrates with more than 40 shipping providers, which the company describes as the largest integrated network in Africa. Egyptinnovate said it also offers agentic tools for retaining customers and growing online sales. The company was founded in 2023 by Mostafa Masry, chief executive, and Nihal Ali, chief operating officer, who previously worked at Careem, Glovo, Vodafone and Delivery Hero, according to Launch Africa.
Traction
Fincart says it serves more than 450 merchants and enterprise clients in fashion, cosmetics, accessories and electronics. It has shipped and delivered close to EGP 1bn (about $20m) of product value through automated workflows. Nearly 40% of new customers come from referrals, and it has spent nothing on marketing in the past three years. These figures come from the company.
Ali said many merchants juggle five or six disconnected tools to run their business, and that Fincart replaces them with a single control panel.
Earlier funding and plans
The seed follows a pre-seed round led by Plus VC, with Orbit Ventures, Plug and Play and other regional investors, which the company did not put a figure on.
Fincart will use the money to develop its AI platform, expand its commercial and technology teams, form partnerships to strengthen its home market of Egypt and enter new markets in 2027. Lina Kacyem of Launch Africa said Egypt's e-commerce market is one of Africa's most compelling infrastructure opportunities. Romain Assunção of Antler MENAP said the firm backs people first. Headcount was not disclosed.
Product detail
MENA Startup Digest described Fincart as a broader operating system for e-commerce businesses, with delivery management, automated cash reconciliation, customer retention tools and short-term financing based on sales. It integrates with more than 40 courier companies across Africa and has facilitated nearly EGP 1bn in gross merchandise value.
Egyptinnovate said the shipping and cash-on-delivery tools are complemented by agentic tools for user retention, engagement and online sales. The announcement said the company is preparing to enter new markets in 2027 and that the pre-seed round led by Plus VC closed in January 2025.
Market context
Lina Kacyem of Launch Africa framed the opportunity around Egypt's e-commerce market, which she called one of Africa's most compelling infrastructure opportunities. Wamda reported that merchants in the market have long struggled with delivery quality and slow reconciliation of cash on delivery, the problems Fincart was built to address. The company said it plans to enter new markets in 2027 but did not say which.
