HiBob, the company behind the Bob people-management platform, raised $166m in an investment led by Salesforce, it announced on 1 September 2026. Farallon Capital also took part. The company did not give the round a series label.
HiBob did not disclose a valuation. Bloomberg put it at about $3.2bn, according to Reworked, and Calcalist reported the same figure. That compares with about $2.7bn at the company's previous round in September 2023. Calcalist described the new investment as the largest in HiBob's history and said it took total funding since the company was founded to more than $700m.
The deal builds on an existing partnership between the two companies. In June 2026 Salesforce's Slack launched Slackbot HCM, which lets Slack users query HiBob data subject to their permissions, Reworked reported.

What HiBob does
HiBob was founded in Tel Aviv in 2015, according to Wikipedia, which names Amit Knaani, Ronni Zehavi, Israel David and Andy Bellass as founders. Zehavi is chief executive. The announcement was datelined New York and London.
Its product, Bob, combines HR, payroll and finance tools in one system. The company says it serves more than 5,500 customers, and that mid-sized and enterprise organisations in more than 170 countries use the platform. It did not disclose its headcount or revenue.
HiBob has added products through acquisitions, Wikipedia lists, including the London payroll automation company Pento in 2024 and the US financial planning software company Mosaic in 2025.
Why Salesforce invested
HiBob said the investment marks a shift from a modern HR platform toward what it calls an organizational intelligence layer. Its argument is that AI agents working inside companies need accurate data on people, roles, skills, reporting lines and permissions, and that HiBob already holds much of that information for its customers.
The company said it is building an open, headless platform that brings this workforce context into collaboration, CRM, finance and operations systems, rather than keeping it inside an HR application. "We founded HiBob with a simple conviction: The world of work has transformed, and will continue to transform at a rapid pace," Zehavi said in the announcement.
Joe Teplow, chief strategy officer at Slack and a senior vice president at Salesforce, said in the release that HiBob's workforce data makes AI more useful and connected to how businesses operate. Zehavi told Reworked that no single system has enough context on its own. Data currently flows only from HiBob into Slack, Reworked reported, and asked whether HiBob customers would get the same access to Slack and Salesforce data, Zehavi said that was "the direction of travel".
What the money is for
The announcement did not set out how the money will be spent. People familiar with the deal told Calcalist that HiBob plans to use it for acquisitions and to expand its platform.
The funding so far
HiBob has raised money roughly once a year since 2017. Wikipedia lists a $17.5m Series A in 2017, $20m in 2019, a $70m Series B in December 2020, a $150m Series C in October 2021 at a $1.65bn valuation and a $150m Series D in August 2022 at $2.45bn.
Its most recent round before this one was $150m in September 2023, led by Farallon Capital, at a valuation of about $2.7bn, Calcalist and Reworked reported. Calcalist said that round included Alpha Wave Global and existing investors. Calcalist also named General Atlantic, Bessemer Venture Partners, Battery Ventures, Eight Roads Ventures, Index Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Entrée Capital, Vintage Investment Partners and Arbor Ventures among HiBob's backers.
